Atacand Generic |
Candesartan |
 |
Description: Atacand also known as candesartan cilexetil in its generic form belongs to a category of drugs called angiotensin receptor blockers. Candesartan helps in lowering the blood pressure by compressing or squeezing the arteries and veins which is caused because candersartan does not allow the effect of the chemical angiotensin II. Angiotensin II is a chemical known to raise blood pressure. Thus this drug helps to relax the blood vessels which results in the lowering of blood pressure. The reduction of pressure against which the heart pumps blood results in regularizing the functioning of the heart too and this makes it useful for heart patients also. It can be used with a combination of drugs also as prescribed by the doctor. Atacand Generic is a prescription drug, consult a physician and refer to the instructions before consuming. |
